DACA—Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals from 2012 and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans from 2014 are the Federal programs President Obama established by his executive actions They were designed to provide temporary deportation relief and work permits for four million undocumented immigrants

Last months split decision upholds the ruling of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals which had prevented these programs from going into effect It also means that new applications to DAPA and DACA are suspended until the legal stalemate is broken
